Our History

How We Started

Our work is part of Inspiring Girls International, which was founded in the UK in 2016 by Miriam González Durántez. Since then, the community has grown to include a total of 34 country teams across six continents. The USA team launched its first programming in November of 2020 and received its own legal standing and official 501(c)3 status in July of 2021.

How We Work

Inspiring Girls USA implements its own work at the country level to ensure we are responding to local challenges and opportunities in the most effective and efficient ways. To achieve this, we also partner with local organizations and individuals who share a similar vision and who could benefit from our free activities and resources.

We are self reliant (and self funded) as are all the other country teams, yet we are all part of a strong network under a global brand and mission.

Inspiring Girls International is headquartered in London and provides an environment for all country teams to collaborate in drawing from our collective experiences and lessons learned and to share our resources.

Our network of Young Ambassadors from across the nation play an important role in informing and advising the work we do. Every year we appoint one girl from the US to serve in the Global Young Ambassadors Network run by our International team.
